Peter Pondre’s Duck Race Adventure: A Quacky Day Out with MJP Conveyancing
Here’s how it all unfolded.
A Feathered Friend with Big Dreams
Peter Pondre isn’t your average rubber duck. Oh no. He’s sleek, sophisticated, and a little bit squeaky. Draped in MJP Conveyancing’s bold colours, Peter had spent months preparing for this day. His training regime included long soaks in the sink, bobbing drills during tea breaks, and watching hours of inspirational duckumentaries like The Pondfather.
And when race day arrived? Peter was ready for his moment.
The Slowest Sprint in History
The starting gun (well, more of a cheery blast from a referee’s whistle) signaled the release of over a hundred rubber ducks. Peter burst onto the scene, floating forward with grace and determination. His competitors jostled to find their footing in the still waters of the River Wensum, but Peter was laser-focused.
Thanks to an eerily calm day with barely a whisper of wind or ripple of current, this year’s race wasn’t what you’d call “high-speed.” Spectators grabbed coffees, debated what takeaway to order for dinner, and reshuffled deck chairs as the ducks inched forward with glacial determination.
The Drama at the Finish Line
And then… the moment came. Or at least, it seemed to. After over an hour of tense bobbing and weaving, Peter was the first duck to appear to cross the finish line. Photos were snapped, hands were thrown in the air, and rumors of celebratory bubble baths began circulating.
But wait! Not so fast.
While victory might have slipped through his beak, Peter held his head high as he paddled toward the winners’ enclosure, a true duck among ducks.
Stressful? Yes. Fun? Absolutely!
Later, Peter finally got to wind down with a relaxing soak in a luxurious bubble bath. Candles were lit, relaxing music played softly in the background, and Peter floated quietly, no doubt dreaming of next year’s race and his shot at the title.
Until Next Year, Duck Fans!
The Break Norwich Duck Race 2025 was unforgettable, and Peter Pondre was at the heart of it. MJP Conveyancing couldn’t be prouder of their plucky little rubber representative. Sure, first place slipped away, but Peter proved that a steady float, a determined spirit, and a willingness to enjoy the ride are just as important as winning.
Here’s to Peter Pondre, a duck of the people, and to MJP Conveyancing, always making waves (or, at least trying to)! See you at the next race.
